I have a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.During this time at University, I had the opportunity to pursue two international exchange projects with the Technical University of Darmstadt in Darmstadt, Germany. I got the chance to collaborate with both German engineers & chemists to help design chemical plants for the production of Sorbitol as well as Ethylene/Propene. The former design was done as a student and the latter as a coach.While finishing my Bachelor's degree, I began working with my Professor's company, Nanopareil, to optimize cellulose surface chemistries for use in both AEX & CEX separations. While pursuing my Master's degree, I worked with the company to develop novel surface chemistries for the immobilization of Protein A for the use in Affinity Bioseparations of immunoglobulins. Upon completing my Master's, I have continued to work with Nanopareil to invent new surface chemistries for our Cellulose nanofiber membranes for both ligand immobilization & affinity separations. This experience has familiarized me with various protein & chromatographic quantification techniques, such as working with AKTA Avant systems & assays.My technical background is unique in that I am educated in Chemical Engineering, but have the experience & knowledge necessary to operate within the industry of Bioseparations/Biotechnology.Specialties: Bioseparations, Protein Immobilization & Assay Techniques, AspenPlus, AspenEDR, Flow of Fluids, VBA Programming, Pump & Piping Design, Process Design, Process Safety.
