Project & Business Analyst Manager

São Paulo Area, Brazil

During my last year at Vector Partners Consulting in 2014, one of my Directors at Vector left to join another firm. He was a professional that I enjoyed working closely with and who was my manager during a handful of projects at Vector. Well – little I knew that my next role would be with him. He approached me in 2014 as he was seeking a project manager who would be able to increase the quality of the projects' deliverables while meeting budget goals and deadlines. The challenge was intriguing, and the engagements were more comprehensive in scope compared to my previous experiences, so I decided to give it a try. After two interviews and a project management competency assessment test, I was offered the role of IT Project Manager, which I accepted. New times ahead. My objectives would involve working closely with the clients and their systems' power users to fully understand their needs and communicate these to our technical teams. With my tech skills and business acumen, combined with my EQ and excellent listening skills, positioned me well to liaise between these teams and contribute to achieving solutions more quickly. A proud achievement was the successful transition of an ERP Business Unit to Avalara, a multi-million deal. This was a very challenging project that involved several stakeholders, different locations, and a multi-disciplinary team. I loved it. As 2017 was about to start, I wanted to dedicate some time to myself and to enhance my skills. In sum, I wanted to have the opportunity to do a Master's Degree overseas, and Canada was my choice. As I got accepted to do my Master's at the end of the 2017, I communicated my decision to leave SuitePlus to pursue my Master's degree in Vancouver, Canada.

Business Analyst Project Management

São Paulo Area, Brazil

My time at P. Simon had ended with a successful acquisition by Cremer, which allowed me to take some time off to clear my mind and start planning my next career step. It was a time well spent, reconnecting with former colleagues and managers and learning about exciting new job opportunities. At one of these conversations, I learned from a former colleague about the exciting consulting work with Vector and their need for someone with my credentials and experience. Needless to say, I wanted to learn more about it. My contact referred me to the HR team, and within a week, I was interviewing with the COO and CEO. Then one week later received an offer to join their team, in a role that was a hybrid between Business Analysis and Project Management. I engaged in several processes mapping and redesigning projects as well and collecting, distilling data and making recommendations to the senior leadership team. It surely kept me busy and gave me lots of exposure to multiple groups. I was once again working with diverse organizations that would be put together per project – and that allowed me to meet more of the staff, learn from them, and contribute too. A proud moment for me at Vector was a high-profile project with a sugar cane plant where I was tasked to lead a multi-disciplinary team of 4 consultants on an $800K ERP implementation project. The project included not only the technical and business requirements to work perfectly but also to lead and coach the management and staff during a time of change management. The project was delivered as outlined to the client and immediately generated a 40% increase in revenue compared to last year and a 21% profit boost. Vector helped me to realize what I loved doing the most – process improvement and implementation while leading the project team.

Finance & Business Analysis Manager

São Paulo Area, Brazil

Midway in 2008, I enrolled in an Executive Education course to enhance my business acumen and company valuation skills as I understood these would positively impact my work with E&Y clients. One of my colleagues at the program told me about a new role, Finance & Business Analysis Manager, within their organization. It sounded exciting having the opportunity to bring my experience and credentials to this new role. My financial industry, process improvement, and project management credentials were a good match. So in August 2018, I left E&Y to face this new chapter of my career. The role was exciting and required me to do a thorough review of all the company’s operational and financial process and to find opportunities for more efficiency and savings. I loved that. Plus this was also a great opportunity to lead a team of ten professionals, which was different from my experience at E&Y when I worked and led different groups during my tenure with the firm. My main objective was to make the company more robust and a more appealing to be acquired, which happened three years later (2011) for 2.5 times the value of the company from when I first joined. My time at P. Simon was a fantastic journey being on the front of future acquisition and being the leader of the Process Restructuring team. The senior leadership was very transparent with its goals, and that caused some anxiety within the organization. It was a great learning platform to learn how to best coach my team and support my colleagues towards a common goal. I still remember my last performance review when I was praised for my ability to navigate pressure times, contributing to a great team environment and as stated by my manager ‘getting things done.’ I learned a lot at P. Simon, and as we approached the end of May, I knew that a new cycle was about to start.

Sep 2008 - May 2011

Senior Consultant

São Paulo Area, Brazil

After spending a few years in the banking industry as a process analyst for one of the top banks in South America (Bradesco S/A), and having had the opportunity to work closely with an E&Y consulting team for a couple of strategic projects for the bank, I was approached by one of the senior managers about a role within their group. After a couple of informal interviews with the team and the HR staff, I was offered the position of Senior Consultant within the Financial Advisor team. The role was a great match with my banking experience and a great platform to enhance my business process improvement and project management skills. The team and the projects we tackled were inspiring and fantastic opportunity to strengthen my client service skills and business acumen. My tenure with E&Y was full of great learnings, which included a time when a CEO stormed out of the meeting room. And we were able to re-group and save the project. I learned a lot during these many clients’ engagements and built several solid friendships along the way.
