I recently transitioned to a professorship in the ECE Department at Texas A&M University. I am extremely excited to focus on device and process research for low power, nano-photonics, and photovoltaic applications. I will be establishing a research program that is closely linked with industry as well as extremely deep in scientific discovery. I also am strongly interested in entrepreneurial endeavors with my ideas.My most recent position prior to this was as a device and process integration engineer at AMD, assigned at SEMATECH in Austin, TX. I managed the 3D Device research group, looking at FinFETs, nanowires, integration schemes and unit processes.I have authored over 70 papers and conference proceedings. I have extensive proposal authoring skills including funded proposals to NSF, DARPA and SRC. I have negotiatied >$2mil joint development contracts and been involved in large scale semiconductor research lab design.I was previously a professor at the University of Missouri - Columbia in the electrical engineering department. This has allowed me to understand the research environement, but still have a focused goal-oriented industrial work ethic.
