-Participated in the Randall O. Sorrels Immigration Clinic pro bono by working on six individual cases regarding various immigration matters such as U-Visas, T-Visas, Naturalization, and SIJS.

The Pro Bono Honors program is a STCL sponsored voluntary program. I completed 50 hours of Pro Bono work in various organizations and opportunities, including the District Attorney's office sponsored "Make it Right" program, over the span of a year.

- Edited articles the Corporate Counsel Review committed to publish by reviewing if cited sources correctly supported the proposition for which it is cited, citations are in the correct format, and the text can be easily understood and does not contain erroneous grammar or punctuation - Researched and wrote a casenote pertaining to issues affecting business entities, outside representation of entities, and/or in-house counsel- Solicited the submission of at least one article written by law professors or attorneys on topics relating to businesses to the Corporate Counsel Review for potential publication

- Interacted with prospective and incoming first year students through events such as campus tours, admitted student receptions, and contacted prospective and/or admitted students

- Restructured the organization by officially joining the Texas Exes legal network and created guidelines for members as well as present and future leaders of the organization- Participated with fellow Texas Exes officers and other campus organizations in creating socials, networking, and volunteering events for the school year

- Informed students about networking and speaker events created by the Women’s Law Society - Encouraged student participation through brainstorming ideas for socials, speaker events, and meetings

-Prepared legal drafts, including discovery requests, responses, orders, and other pleadings as well as trial briefs, evidence, and motions for over 30 divorce cases-Gathered and compiled legal records and organized them in an appropriate manner and performed a detailed analysis of the relevant legal data to research for the legal issues

Part of the Pro Bono Texas Access to Justice Program, where law students volunteer during their spring break for organizations which focus on helping low income Texans with legal matters. - Uploaded all signed documents into Case Management system for over 400 cases- Contacted clients for clarification on key information as needed- Reviewed eligibility and pleadings for 109 expunction or nondisclosure of criminal history petitions for 94 people (Approx. $33,000 in filing fees waived)- Drafted and reviewed 310 pleadings to courts for finding of indigence to clear outstanding traffic tickets for 178 people (Approx. $220,000 in cost savings benefits to clients) At the conclusion of representation, this translated to approximately $250,000 in fines and fees waived for Beacon Law clients and the ability for them to take the next step in restabilization.

- Observed and assisted the Honorable Judge Lawrence “Larry” Thorne in courtroom proceedings and pretrial conferences pertaining to adoptions, divorces, and child custody cases as well as attending juvenile court proceedings- Researched and wrote memorandums on family law issues pertaining to custodial rights of parents and divorce proceedings for out-of-state and incarcerated spouses

- Managed speaker outreach and programming for biweekly member meetings, social events, and community events- Increased membership participation by recreating organization’s constitution and implementing these guidelines for present and future

- Collected membership dues, made deposits, applied for funding, recorded, budgeted and managed finances of $3,500- Planned and executed two educational events per semester for 500 members, students, and the Austin community - Organized three fundraising dinners per year for charities such as Islamic Relief, UNICEF, and Front Steps-Austin Resource Center and raised over $2,000 for each event

- Worked as a mentor over the course of the semester to provide a means of support, encouragement, and aid for first-year students in the Moody College of Communication- Addressed concerns of mentees by meeting on a weekly basis in order to help them become more comfortable with their environment - Met on a biweekly basis with program organizers and other mentors to discuss correct protocol when answering questions as well as tactics to improve and maintain a professional mentor/mentee relationship

- Worked with Dr. Mary Nerricio at the University of Texas Speech and Hearing Clinic to see socioeconomic effects on speech, reading, writing and listening skills in bilingual clients- Prepared reports on speech patterns of seven clients to assess progress on goals - Assisted graduate student clinicians with activities prior to and during speech therapy sessions
