About Sid Nair
17 years focused on corporate finance and strategy. Across my career at EY, I have worked with mid-market, technology clients on their M&A and financing priorities across North America, Asia and Africa.I have lived, worked and traveled across five continents. This has given me an opportunity to witness the disruptive and transformative nature of technology first hand. Being closely involved with tech entrepreneurs and companies has shaped my perspectives, both professionally and personally. Over these years, I also got the opportunity to advise on prominent transactions in the sector, especially in the areas of enterprise software, tech-enabled services & media.I lead EY’s technology M&A business nationally across Canada, advising companies on their M&A and capital raising priorities. I also author the firm’s point of view on deal activity and trends in the technology sector . Outside of my M&A responsibilities, I am closely involved with EY’s True North initiative with Communitech.Prior to this, I was part of the EY EMEIA Emerging Markets Center of Excellence in Dubai. As part of this role, I advised on some of the largest transactions in the region but also served as account leader for key corporate accounts and PE groups, advising on corporate strategy, inorganic growth and partnerships. I have also completed global mobility stints in the US and Singapore.Earlier in my career, I was part of the EY and o3 Capital investment banking team in India focusing on the technology and real estate sectors.Over my career, I have successfully advised on 70+ deals over US$ 4.0B in value. These deals have been nominated for the Atlas M&A Deal of the Year Awards five times, across several categories. I have also been part of the team that received the best financial advisor at the Mergermarket M&A Awards between 2010-2014 & 2017. In 2023, my leadership on Metrio’s acquisition by Nasdaq was recognized by the M&A Club Canada when EY was awarded “The Financial Advisor of the Year in 2023”.
