Monitored hardware and software contracts, vendor negotiations, and purchases. • Significantly improved customer satisfaction and productivity by transitioning all business systems from mainframe to open-system computing environment within six years; upgraded network infrastructure to support a new editorial system consisting of document imaging and workflow system, and two generations of WilsonWeb. • Saved company $1,000,000 in royalty payments by meeting deadline for deployment of second-generation Web service. • Saved company $1,000,000 in software licensing and hardware costs by influencing management to migrate from Solaris to Linux via load testing. • Enabled company to expand its Dublin editorial operation to handle abstracting work by establishing a standard operating environment in Dublin and the Bronx for new editorial system; this allowed network staff to support Dublin operation over a private WAN without a senior network engineer in Dublin. • Cut indexing and abstracting time-to-publish from 2.5 weeks to 2 days with WIN editorial system implementation, saving $750,000.
