About Sieglinde Snapp
Director of Sustainable AgriFood Systems at CIMMYT, Sieg Snapp leads teams of scientists and public-private-civil society partners for multidisciplinary discovery in food security. A pioneer in participatory research, Sieg is the “mother” of the mother and baby trial design used by researchers in dozens of countries to develop technologies and varieties that are readily adoptable by farmers. Publications include .190 articles and three books. She has been awarded International Service in Agronomy, a Fellow in Agronomy and SSSA, Beal Outstanding Professor and Fulbrights. As a professor at Michigan State University, she championed inclusivity and capacity building in Africa, including mentoring dozens of students to pursue PhDs and MS degrees.
