Instiglio builds markets in low and middle-income countries to address the most pressing social issues that governments identify

- Participated in a team of LSE postgraduate students in charge of drawing policy recommendations about what African countries can learn from Latin America on small scale commercial agriculture.- Helped design a stock-taking exercise of potential knowledge that can be exchanged between Latin America and Africa. It is based on the analysis of enabling factors and organisational, socio-economic, political, and institutional weaknesses.- Participated in the identification, analysis and documentation of three successful Latin American agricultural projects, and in the analysis of the main challenges faced by African countries in the development of their small scale commercial agriculture.- Presented key findings to the client and contributed to the drafting and editing of the final report.

- Developed information systems, indicators, monitoring tools, and managed large datasets.- Assessed the impact of the subcomponent Municipio al Dia: www.municipioaldia.com and participated in the evaluation and surveys of the MIM Programme working closely with different groups of external consultants.- Developed capacity building tools and training material for municipal officers and the civil society in user friendly formats (e.g. a System and a Report for Monitoring Municipal Investments and educational pamphlets).- Designed and implemented a Good Governance Index. - Conducted training sessions for public functionaries and external consultants.

- Led a Quantitative Studies Team for the implementation of Solvency II in the Peruvian Insurance Sector.- Prepared and presented periodic Macroeconomic and Financial Stability Reports to analysts and high level functionaries.- Conducted quantitative and qualitative studies for the implementation of Basel II (e.g. the calculation of a House Price Index for Lima-Peru, and the construction of a Model for Estimating Bank Liquidity Provisions).- Designed the survey Access to Financial Services to quantify the penetration and quality of financial services in Peru.

- Conducted a cost impact analysis of the Programme Education in Rural Areas (PEAR).- Standardized the programme’s demand and supply analysis methodology. - Trained external consultants in the aforementioned methodology and worked closely with officers of several areas of the Ministry such as the Statistics Department.

- Participated in the design of a methodology and developed a complete quantitative example for The National Guidance for Public Investments in Universities: http://www.mef.gob.pe/inv_publica/docs/instrumentos_metod/educacion/GuiaUniversidades.pdf .- Prepared and processed surveys, and participated in field interviews and trainings for the line base of three projects on Technical Training and Employment Promotion in rural areas in Peru.- Participated in the elaboration of a Competences Transfer Plan for the Decentralization Process in Peru.- Quantitative and qualitative support, as well as in field work, for 10 academic publications.- Supported the edition of an econometrics book (to be published).
