I conducted research improving satellite imagery-based estimates of crop residue cover in the Pacific Northwest by integrating moisture dependency effects during a 10-week program. There, independently performed laboratory spectrometry experiments to produce spectral signatures for 12 different soils and 6 different crops at various moisture levels and self-taught R Studios via Data Carpentries to incorporate 42,000 cells worth of data. Additionally, I attended numerous Atmospheric Chemistry Workshops.

I conducted research on the tidal influence on seawater chemistry during an 8-week program. During my time there, I collected and organized over 100 water samples and analyzed them using various analytical instruments such as a UV Spectrophotometer, Visible Spectrophotometer, Shimadzu TOC, fluorometer, and handheld CTD instrument. To conclude my research, I effectively and concisely presented research in both oral and written forms. Prior to beginning my research, I participated in a one-day research cruise (R/V Savannah). There Iassisted in CTD rosette deployment, ponar grab cores for sediments, trawl nets, phytoplankton collection, and dolphin surveys.
