At this job I had the opportunity to utilize all aspects of my creativity in respect to food. I performed USDA recipe analysis for 3 distinct meal plans with 7 meals each per week. I also focused on recipe development which then led to recipe testing and finally ended with me styling each plate for our photographer. In turn these phots were used and published weekly within the app. I also had the opportunity to focus on filming cooking and cooking tips focused videos for use on social media. I learned so many great things in my time at eMeals such as collaboration, diverse recipe development, and food styling skills.

I customized and planned group fitness classes twice a week and to lead a group upward of 30 people through this workout. In this role I have the chance to challenge participants to be their best all while monitoring every participant and ensuring they are safely performing the exercises. From the experience I learned how to have a workout plan fit for a first time gym go'er and that same workout being able to challenge a D1 athlete. I learned how to become creative with exercises and encourage participants to work at the level that challenges them, rather than attempting to keep up with a neighbor who may be at a different skill level. In this job I have accomplished learning how to approach participants and give them feedback or correct their form without diminishing their confidence.

I help students become accustomed to college life regarding academic standings and social aspects. I also provide and show students resources that can better their learning education. Through this role I have personally found a number opportunities on campus for leadership positions and educational resources I had never been told about before. I was able to accomplish reaching out to every student within my college via email to check in, I created spreadsheets, and helped compile information to fill a new website being made specifically for resources for students on the campus of Virginia Tech.

This opportunity allowed me to explore my interest in sports nutrition. In this role I was tasked with providing athletes with refueling snacks for before or after a workout as well as informing the athletes why one option was better than the other. This opportunity allowed me to learn that personal taste can also highly impact the fuel used before and after a workout.

In this role I worked closely with a group of two students as they learned different preparations methods of different food items. I also closely supervised and provided aid when they needed help or had questions.

During this service learning experience I had the opportunity to review, edit, and critique an 8 week long training module set up for the Master Food Volunteer training portion of this program. This program is 30 hours long and I was able to determine if the videos in each module were appropriate, if the follow up quiz questions were appropriate, as well as think of activities to go along with these trainings.
