Work across the Public Health department to assist staff and leadership in the planning and promotion of programs and services, health communications, and developing materials to address community needs. Act as Public Information Officer (PIO) in an emergency, facilitate the use of social media, prepare news releases, and assist with updating website content. Work with internal and external partners to coordinate Department-wide special projects including developing and editing budget documents, grant applications, and program awards. TXT4LIFE was a suicide prevention program that opened the Minnesota affiliate of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to text messaging. It has since been absorbed by the State and expanded statewide under a different name. I was responsible for program management, marketing, community outreach, and training in the seven county, four tribe region of Northeast Minnesota. This included coordinating regular meetings with the Advisory Council, evaluating the program and initiatives, organizing an annual conference, and giving public presentations. I also maintained grant requirements and worked to expand the program, as part of team.
