Research assistant and project coordinator working in a breast cancer lab. Over 5 years experience in research project management and data analysis. Skilled in project development, scheduling, task prioritizing, data documentation and trouble-shooting.

During my time at Randolph-Macon I worked in the lab of Dr. Traci Stevens. The Stevens lab primarily focuses on characterizing the molecular pathways that Abl uses to regulate actin-based processes in vivo, using the fruit fly as a model system. Currently the lab is exploring the roles of candidate genes in Abl signaling pathways and carrying out a genomic screen to identify novel components of Abl signaling pathways that regulate cell shape changes and cell migration during development. Specifically, I designed an experiment to identify new genes that genetically interact with Bcr-Abl, a fusion gene that was previously shown to cause changes in cell morphology, in the epithelium of fruit flies during development.

Participated in a summer research fellowship and where I was able to continue my research on identifying genes that genetically interact with Bcr-Abl in the epithelium of fruit flies during development.
