About Sierra Dole
After spending my grade school years in advanced English classes and an elective journalism class, I decided that I wanted to devote the rest of my life to the written word. I started off wanting to be the next Andi Anderson (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and, after being presented an opportunity through a non-profit print news magazine (Voices of Central PA) I surprised myself by gravitating toward developing education themed editorials and covering controversial topics. Shortly after joining the Voices team, I was given the opportunity to become an editor for the Education section, which lead to my ongoing passion for editing content. Leading other writers and helping them really put forth their best work is such a rewarding experience and allows me to continue to further develop my own writing and adapting skills.
Listed skills include Quarkxpress, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Final Cut Pro, and 20 others.

My direct assignments were to reply to correspondence that was mailed to us by customers or uploaded via their online account, as well as sending documentation to customers that was requested by phone or email. These tasks generally took vast amounts of account research and the ability to explain complex account options in simple, easy to understand terms while addressing all questions and concerns provided by the customers within their inquiry or request.
Customer Service Specialist
United Concordia's mission is to open more doors to quality, affordable dental care and improve customer's overall well-being through good oral health. I assisted both dental officials and dental patients by phone with questions regarding policy coverage, claim status, policies, and enrollment options. I also assisted dental offices with filing timely claims to ensure patients received their insurance coverage in a timely manner and I assisted patients with understanding the terminology and breakdowns of their policies to help them make more informed decisions regarding their oral healthcare going forward. I regularly used Microsoft Teams, Avaya phone systems, Outlook email, and ICS account services software. I also worked remotely on a permanent basis within a stable, quiet home office environment.
Csr I/Ert
PHEAA's mission is to provide affordable access to higher education by assisting families with navigating the financial aid process. I assisted financial aid borrowers by phone, email, and live chat with questions regarding their student loans (such as interest rates, repayment terms, postponements, etc.) and educated them on more affordable payment options, loan cancellation, and forgiveness. I specialized in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPSLF) programs. I also processed advanced email submissions and was included in several specialty projects within the company. My day-to-day routine varied greatly and required that I be available for phone calls, email processing, and live chats at any given moment as our command center would review our workload and delegate who should work which task continuously throughout the day. My position consisted mainly of independent workloads but could also include delegation and teamwork when working on specialty projects. Some of my specialty projects included:- Email Resource Team (ERT): a proficient email processor in charge of more advanced and escalated requests- Manual PSLF Payment Count Letters known as P-project (1 of 12 specialists within the entire company)- Massachusetts Attorney General Account Reviews (1 of approximately 6 specialists)
Web Content Manager/Managing Editor
I began as a web content manager, where I would edit and upload monthly articles written by other managing editors to websites for different types of clients, including Greek Life organizations (fraternities and sororities) and Non-Profit organizations. I would generate monthly eLetters through templates created by our web team and work with clients to ensure complete satisfaction before distributing the content to their alumni databases, which included around 1,000 members on average.Within a few months, I became a managing editor. I contacted Greek Life clients and discussed their group's goals, important events, and achievements within their group. I reached out to members via email and phone to gather feedback and to gather stimulating content for their monthly eLetter including, but not limited to, chapter updates and events, alumni updates, and photo flashbacks from previous years. I also wrote for HappyValley.com briefly, which was promoted through the website, Facebook, and Twitter, and contributed to our annual Homecoming Guide.I have worked with as many as 48 clients at a time and have completed 6 postcards, 13 print newsletters, 5 newsletter/appeal letter combos, and 5 printed appeal letters.

Education Editor
I compiled article ideas, assigned articles to writers, guided those writers when they had questions, edited the articles, and laid out my section for print at the end of each month using Quark Xpress.
Writer/Photographer
I wrote articles for various sections of the news magazine, including three cover stories, and took photographs or created graphics for corresponding articles within the news magazine as needed.
Resident Assistant
I was trained to be a mentor, resource, role model, and friend to residents living in my housing area while still enforcing university policies and keeping the environment safe for all. I was responsible for holding community events each month as well as distributing monthly newsletters to the community and displaying creative and informative bulletin boards within the community centers. I was also on a rotating "duty" schedule that required multiple perimeter-walks to confirm the housing areas were safe and thorough incident reports of any policy violations.
Web Content Intern
I added local events to the nittanyliving.net calendar through a pre-made template, transcribed radio pieces, contacted winners of radio contests, and created forms when requested by sales representatives.
