First Step House is a non profit organization in Salt Lake City which provides residential and outpatient treatment, housing case management, supportive employment services, long-term recovery management, and primary and dental healthcare to no and low income individuals with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and histories of homelessness. As the Development Associate, I worked alongside the Development Director to research, write, and secure grants as well as solicit donations and create marketing materials. As a department, we were awarded grants ranging from $2,500-385,000, raised over $40,000 during our year-end campaign, and over $50,000 at our annual fundraising event.

As the Assistant Director of Athletic Development at Utah Valley University, I worked closely with the Director of Athletic Development on donor cultivation, event planning and execution, and major gift fundraising. In this position, I oversaw our annual fund, the UV3 program, which consisted of monthly donors and individual donations under $500. The management of this program included having consistent contact with donors, outreach efforts, managing the donor benefits, and ensuring that donors were aware and invited to all Utah Valley University sporting events. I loved having the opportunity to meet donors, cultivate them, and see the increased engagement which resulted in an high revenue year for the athletics program.

Rukkus Communications is a boutique marketing firm which specializes in helping mid-sized organizations act strategically and on-brand in all marketing and communications efforts. We work to see where our client's current practices are lacking and educate them on best marketing practices. As the Marketing Strategist and Project Manager, I oversaw and managed their marketing and communication projects from start to finish. This required constant communication with both the client and the freelancers who produced content for our clients. The goal was to always deliver the highest quality product that was creative, unique, and on brand.

Memory Matters Utah's mission is to reduce isolation and improve wellness for individuals with dementia and their caregivers through support, activities, education, and consultation. I started at Memory Matters Utah as the Development Intern, working closely with the Director of Development on fundraising and event planning. In 2015, I was promoted to Director of Development and then worked improve the current event and fundraising efforts as well as created a Grant Writing program. In my first year, I wrote for and was awarded grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 in monetary awards and many in-kind awards to cover marketing and materials. In addition to strategic fundraising and grant writing, I oversaw social media management, marketing, community outreach, and the day-to-day operations of the office.
