Young Women’S Md Advocate
CurrentIn my role as a Young Women’s Advocate, I provide comprehensive support to young women and girls who are survivors of violence, including sexual violence, exploitation, and other forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). My responsibilities include offering both one-to-one emotional and practical support to empower survivors as they navigate their personal healing journeys.I also design and facilitate workshops aimed at fostering resilience, empowerment, and awareness among young women and professionals. These workshops address various topics, including trauma recovery, self-care, race, advocacy skills and creating safe and supportive spaces for participants to share their experiences and build strength together. Additionally, I frequently present ideas and strategies to advocate for the needs and voices of young women within the organisation and the wider community. My work is grounded in intersectionality, with a focus on amplifying the voices of Black women and girls to ensure they feel seen, heard, and valued as they overcome the systemic barriers they face.
