As Operations Manager I manage my team and assist in the problem solving of logistics to run tours. I do financial analysis and budgeting to figure out the break even point of each tour and use that along with other environmental factors to decide which tours can operate. I have decision making power on which suppliers we work with and negotiate the best rates and services for our tours. I also have my own portfolio of tours which I am responsible for all details, including booking hotels, transport, and guides, providing details to other departments, preparing documentation for clients as well as all documentation for the tour leader, including a tour budget.

As Consulting Manager, I deal with difficult cases and situations that go beyond our standard protocols to negotiate the best outcome for all parties involved. This involves keeping customers happy while maintaining the integrity of the business. Problem solving and quick thinking is important in this role. It is also my responsibility to train employees on everything from the basics of the company database to ongoing training on ever changing visa protocols.

My duties as an Operations Consultant were: being responsible for organizing all aspects of the tours behind the scenes including booking accommodation, transportation, and local guides. This is typically done through working with a local tour operator. I was responsible for negotiating rates, contracts, and making sure all the aspects of the tour are in line with our standards and expectations. I also create budgets for tour leaders and audit the completed report. This role involves creative problem solving when working around busy festival dates, last minute closures, and of course navigating the ever changing world during COVID-19 and beyond.During my time at Adventures Abroad I have also been a Sales Consultant and a Tour Consultant (Customer Service). This requires extensive knowledge of all the products to be able to help customers on the phone and over email in a timely manner.

Friends of Garibaldi Park Society is a non-profit, non-charitable group who is passionate about BC's world class Provincial Parks system and are looking for a means to assist restoring facilities and provide awareness of all protected Park values. Our focus is Garibaldi Provincial Park, British Columbia. As Treasurer I handle all financial management within the organization. I am also a voting member of the board of directors.

Kandy lies in the heart of Sri Lanka, surrounded by green hills covered in tea estates. I managed a small yet busy hostel in the city with 20 dorm beds and one private room. My staff consisted only of two caretakers and occasionally volunteers. My duties included: managing booking websites and the central reservation system, setting up and maintaining the central reservation system, receiving reservations and entering them into the hostel system, checking guests in, taking payment from guests, managing the hostel caretakers, coordinating with the other hostels in the chain, managing the hostel accounts, working with the central accountant to ensure accuracy of all details regarding the hostel income and accountability for the expenses of the hostel, writing weekly reports about the occupancy, revenue, and other events in the hostel, managing the hostel facebook page, selling tours to guests and coordinating with local tour providers, taking into account the needs of the hostel owners and the needs of the hostel, hiring and coordinating hostel volunteers for three hostels, creating criteria for hiring volunteers based on a series of quantitative and qualitative factors, and creating a manager training manual to ensure all managers in the hostel chain are consistent with the others.

Built into the side of Sulphur Mountain, just minutes from the Banff Upper Hot Springs and the Sulphur Mountain Gondola, The Rimrock Resort Hotel is a Four Diamond resort in Banff, Canada. My responsibilities included welcoming guests, checking guests into the hotel, completing daily duties to ensure the most accurate details are available, checking out guests, taking payment, answering internal and external telephone calls and transferring them to the most appropriate department or staff member, and much more.

This hostel fits very nicely with the atmosphere of Valparaíso with its walls painted with incredible art from local and international artists. My duties included checking guests in and out, conversing with guests in English or Spanish, being available for any questions guests have, and being knowledgeable about activities and sights in the local area.

Lost and Found Lodge runs off of the efforts of volunteers from around the globe. My duties included checking guests in and out, giving guests a tour of the property, showing guests to their rooms, being available to answer any questions, and making sure everyone is enjoying their stay. For this job, being able to work independently and working under stress were key skills that were needed, but interaction with others was what I believe to be the most important skill.

Duties included helping the Recruitment Director with recruiting and meeting with all members of the organization to discuss various aspects of their involvement and problems they might be having, as well as helping with other areas of the organization when it was needed.

Maracaibo is a residential community, private park, and resort on Salt Spring Island. As one of their summer staff, my duties included: grounds, dock, and trail maintenance, event planning for their largest annual event, light office work, fire patrols by boat, and housekeeping.

Let's Can Hunger is a worldwide project for Enactus Teams to compete on a global scale. Carleton's team collected over $10,000 worth of food for the Ottawa Food Bank during our one week long collection effort which we spent countless hours organizing. The activities we organized included: fundraising and collecting food at a local supermarket, a silent auction and networking event at the Mexican Ambassador to Canada's house, bowling, and fundraising and collecting food at the Carleton Raven's basketball games.
