CurrentSightline is a woman-owned business dedicated to raising the bar on the quality of airfield markings throughout the world. Donna was the primary author of The Airfield Marking Handbook, written for the FAA in 2008. Sightline doesn't paint the markings, we instruct on the best practices of airfield marking installation. The Marking Condition Index was developed to assist airports to determine the need for marking maintenance. The results from the assessment provide information on current conditions, guidance on maintenance going forward, materials, equipment, and specifications. We will give you a budgetary cost, not a proposal to "fix" your markings. The Airfield Marking Symposium is held throughout North America three times a year. It is a two-and-one-half-day workshop (1/2 classroom and 1/2 field demonstrations) that covers the details of planning, installing, monitoring, and inspecting airfield markings. For 2018, the symposiums are in Toronto (May 8-10), Portland (July 31-Aug 2), and West Palm Beach (Oct 2-4).On-site training at your airport provides "hands-on" opportunities to learn calibration and application procedures with your own equipment. When the airport team (operations, maintenance, inspectors and management) come together to learn best practices, a renewed respect for the markings begins to emerge. We conduct quality control during marking installations to ensure that the airport gets what it pays for. Coupled with concise specifications, our inspection techniques will guarantee good results. We are raising the bar on airfield markings, to make them more effective and last longer. Over the last ten years, the FAA has adopted many of our recommendations for the advisory circulars that relate to markings. Airports and the industry in general are the beneficiaries.
