My specialty was finding and solving problems by analyzing statistics from servers, and correlating this to users' reported problems.I wrote the draft for the ITS expectations of IT professionals. I was the project manager responsible for testing, implementing, and rolling out the campus wide calendaring.As the web server administrator, I upgraded, and patched the ITS web server running Apache that provided web service to 6000+ users. Using stow, I moved to a more central package management system, which allowed better management of software installed on the cluster. Some of my daily tasks included backups, vacation message, alias, mailing, and majordomo lists creation. I wrote scripts in shell and perl to facilitate in the automation of certain parts of job responsibilities making arduous tasks like account culling a much easier process.I proposed a better integrated backup solution for the centralized groups.
