Associate Director Diversity Equity & Inclusivity
I provide strategic leadership and planning to promote and strengthen diversity and inclusiveness at Central Washington University (CWU), building professional success and effectiveness pathways, and cultivating belonging and community to foster affirmative experiences and retention of minoritized employees. In this position, I collaborate and liaise with various departments and offices, as well as develop partnerships with external organizations, affiliated groups and community stakeholders; and serve CWU and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity & Inclusivity by leading the Employees of Color Equity Council, as a member of the Diversity Advisory Council, and engage actively with relevant committees as a representative of the office. I maintain research knoweldge and current trends in diversity, equity and inclusion and use the knowledge to inform, strategize and advance DEI work and provide guidance to capitalize on opportunities; examine effectiveness of programs and of employee engagement and growth, explore opportunities to identify employee experiences and satisfaction, and explore ways to improve diversity and inclusion to guide leadership.

Current responsibilities have evolved to work collaboratively with the campus community to develop and align unit strategic plans across campus. A critical component to supporting these efforts was to advocate for consistent planning language and to offer capacity building opportunities to constituents.
