I provide strategic leadership and planning to promote and strengthen diversity and inclusiveness at Central Washington University (CWU), building professional success and effectiveness pathways, and cultivating belonging and community to foster affirmative experiences and retention of minoritized employees. In this position, I collaborate and liaise with various departments and offices, as well as develop partnerships with external organizations, affiliated groups and community stakeholders; and serve CWU and the Office of the Vice President for Diversity & Inclusivity by leading the Employees of Color Equity Council, as a member of the Diversity Advisory Council, and engage actively with relevant committees as a representative of the office. I maintain research knoweldge and current trends in diversity, equity and inclusion and use the knowledge to inform, strategize and advance DEI work and provide guidance to capitalize on opportunities; examine effectiveness of programs and of employee engagement and growth, explore opportunities to identify employee experiences and satisfaction, and explore ways to improve diversity and inclusion to guide leadership.

Current responsibilities have evolved to work collaboratively with the campus community to develop and align unit strategic plans across campus. A critical component to supporting these efforts was to advocate for consistent planning language and to offer capacity building opportunities to constituents. Previous responsibilities were to support the research, analytical and assessment needs of Strategic Planning and the Department of Student Success towards the purpose of supporting and enhancing the success and retention of students. Primary focus is given to assisting and coordinating students success research and departmental assessment, while developing external reports. Largely working independently, I confer regularly with the Organizational Effectiveness team, the Director of Strategic Planning, and the Dean and Associate Deans of Student Success.

I executed coordination of multiple university divisions to operate program, teach courses, payroll, and coordinated with various university departments to offer, list, register academic courses. Additionally, I plan, implement, and assist in program development, report writing, and events.

SOC/WSP 230, 3 credits Adapted the Multiversity Intergroup Dialogue Research curriculum to emphasize the commonalities of oppression, complexity, and intersectionality of social identities among women and to increase performance, effectiveness, and relevance of curriculum for students. Provide professional teaching development for facilitation team.

I recruited research participants, collected data, maintained integrity of research project. Prepared documents, reports, and summaries for national research group meeting and senior administration. Executed and maintained a partnership between the national research group, community, university, and intergroup dialogue program, involving co-planning MIRP research and writing conference. Our research site had the highest overall completion rate 90% (n = 230) in multi-site research project.

Implemented and evaluated violence prevention programs to prevent and reduce the incidence of violence and promote prosocial behaviors among high-risk elementary school children through literacy. Worked directly with the Research Director to design the survey, collected, entered, and analyzed the data, additionally assisted with the preparation of reports to disseminate to stakeholders. Designed an ancillary program for bus drivers to reduce negative (and potentially dangerous) behaviors on the bus.
