As deputy managing director I participate in the organization and management of our major projects. As such, led the organizations efforts in several important areas Policy making and implementation, relations with ministries and other governmental bodies, law and regulatory affairs, international relations, conferences, education and more.

Politically appointed by the Minister for Social Affairs and Housing, as the director of the National Council on Immigrants. The National Council on Immigrants is a committee composed of experts from both governmental and non-governmental bodies working on issues relating to immigrants, focusing on the affairs relating to improving the quality of life for immigrants in Iceland. The committee's main purpose is to advice the government on issues relating to the affairs of immigrants in Icelandic society.The main projects undertaken by the council during my time as director- Oversight over the national development fund for immigrants, specifically the awarding of grants for the year 2014 and oversight over grants projects in progress.- Working under the Minister of Social Affairs and Housing on the new national action plan for immigrant matters. A bill is due to be introduced in the spring session of parliament in the year 2014.

Elected in the 2013 congressional elections as the 1st reserve member of parliament for the Progressive Party, for the south-western congressional district in Iceland. I was 4th on the party list for the south-western congressional district. The elections resulted in 3 congressmen and 3 reserve congressmen elected from our party in the district. As the 1st reserve member I am called upon if any of the 3 congressmen is absent.Time served in parliament:- October 2013: 2 weeks. Mechanical design engineer. Main projects:Hydropower:- An initial cost estimate for the electro-mechanical part, penstocks and gates for both a proposed new hydropower plant and an extension to an existing hydropower plant. Inquiries to manufacturers and processing of manufacturer offers.- Assistant engineer for the Owner's Engineer for the building of a large hydropower plant. Assisted in reviewing drawings of gates and penstocks for the owner. - Initial cost estimate for a small pumped storage hydropower plant. Refrigerated ammonia storage tanks:- Detail design of a 15.000 tonne refrigerated double containment ammonia storage tank. Responsible for the detail design of tank shells, bottoms, roof plates, roof structure, tank anchorage and insulation. Responsible for specifications for welding, testing, tank inspection, painting & surface preparation along with the tank operating manual.- Offers to potential customers. I handled the technical part of several offers to prospective customers and interested parties.- Stress corrosion cracking in ammonia storage tanks. Wrote a report on recent developments and state of the art in prevention.- Part of a team that constructed a model for the cost estimation of refrigerated ammonia storage tanks. Class 3 cost estimate.Industry: - Predesign of an ethanol storage system. Incorporating an existing tank, to be converted for ethanol storage, pipelines and a system to blend ethanol to gasoline. Biogas- Performed 2 feasibility studies into a proposed new biogas plants in Iceland, for a large municipal area and for smaller municipalities,Quality management:- Trained as an internal inspector handling internal quality inspections according to ISO 9001:2008, environmental management according to ISO 14001:2004 and security management according to OHSAS 18001.

Summer project. Wrote a paper on scale up challenges and solutions, due to plans for a 10x larger methanol production facility, than the original production plant at Svartsengi, Iceland.

-Electromagnetic measurements and related calculations at points of high radiation in Icelandic municipalities. Worked on constructing a model for assessing associated risks.-Assisted in the inspection of medical devices.
