• Serve as the CEO’s ‘trusted counsel’ and in some instances a proxy for the CEO in both external and internal meetings. • Provide high level support in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for leadership development, program and center management, and organizational operations. • Develop/refine and implement tools and processes for effective leadership development, supervision and evaluation of our programs, program directors and program staff. • Work with Communications Associate to draft internal and external communications, such as presentations, speeches, and correspondence. • Support and ensure that organizational operations are strategically aligned at the executive level and cross-departmentally. • Work with Evaluation team and Program leadership to revise the current set of organizational outcomes and metrics for our personal transformation work.• Work with the Development and Finance teams to develop structures in place to streamline reporting and invoicing• Work with Performance Management team to ensure that reporting and invoicing processes align with analysis of programs and services.• Work with the Talent Management team to identify organizational talent needs, skills gaps, and professional development opportunities to build a competent team to execute YU’s vision for community transformation. • Represent YU as a leader in communications with neighboring residents, the general public, government agencies, community organizations, and key opinion leaders in order to further YU’s mission. • Collaborate with the CEO and other executive leadership to build and maintain philosophical alignment across staff, partners and community members; ensuring linkages to YU’s vision for a full constellation of organizations that lead to transformation of the community.

Managing a team of local residents who have strong relationships in the local community to outreach and connect youth and young adults to resources and service offered at Youth UpRising and other agencies. Also to provide on the spot street-conflict mediation services to prevent violence and the escalation of violence in Oakland during time periods in locations where the probability of violent crimes were higher based on police crime data. 5pm-1am Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings in East Oakland.
