About Silas Lyon

After a few years in the aviation business, Silas got into piano business through his wife who once served lead teacher for the Greater Marietta Music Association. In 1977, he founded Southern Keyboards with Kawai as the lead product line. Over the next 33 years, he received the “Inner Circle Award” as a top dealer 29 times, the most of any piano dealer in the country and “Top North American Dealer of the Year” Award 5 times. Silas's love, fascination and knowledge of the piano has made him a resource for helping his clients with the selection of a piano. Piano teachers, area colleges and universities seek him out for guidance. .Silas has earned the “Top Institution Dealer Award” several times. After his career with Southern Keyboards, Silas is available to serve his friends in music and is delighted to join the staff of Cooper Pianos, a dealership who he has always admired and held in high regard.
