Slide Ranch is a non-profit educational institute that strives to connect children to nature, fostering future generations of environmental stewards through our farm and nature preserve. As a Teacher-in-Residence my primary focus has been planning curriculum and leading experiential educational programs for children, youth, and families. Through hands on learning we engage topics of agriculture, ecology, natural history, and environmental stewardship. Beyond teaching, my position helps maintain the agricultural systems of the ranch: planting, watering, and harvesting a 2-acre annual vegetable garden, managing livestock (sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, bees), and maintaining wild/cultivated landscapes.

Patagonia Provisions is the new food department of the well-known outdoor apparel company. Using the leverage of the Patagonia brand, Provisions is attempting to remediate the food industry by establishing reliable product supply chains for farmers implementing regenerative practices. As a research intern I was tasked with a wide variety of projects; my primary responsibilities included: investigating new potential partnerships, and constructing stories for our product supply chain.

Aprovecho Sustainability Research Center is a 40 acre land trust dedicated to research and practice of sustainable living techniques, including: natural building, sustainable forestry, and organic farming. As a permaculture gardener I helped grow and maintain a diverse multi-acre annual vegetable garden and perennial food forest. Additionally I helped care and maintain the livelihood of our pastured poultry and goats. Other responsibilities included: habitat restoration along creek, forestry work, and cooking.

Colorado Springs, Co

The farm at Colorado College is a student run 2 acre permaculture farm that provides fresh, healthy produce to the school's cafeteria and student body. My position as one of the managers involved budget management/planning, soil preparation, planting, irrigating, harvesting, leading educational tours, volunteer leadership/coordination, organizing community outreach and planning community events.
