I've spent over 20 years in book publishing, most of them operating my own company, Nightwood Editions. I've also served 8 years as a school trustee, 6 as board chair, and more recently a term as a municipal councillor. My passion for the public service led me to complete (2011) a Master's in Public Administration at the University of Victoria. My experience as an elected official has provided tremendous leadership opportunities, including redesign of governance models, strategic planning, collective bargaining, public engagement, budget consultation processes, intergovernmental relations and communications.I divide my time between Nightwood Editions, freelance editing and applying my community leadership and public service skill-set to consulting in government and public engagement, strategic planning, strategic communications, community economic development, best practices in governance and policy consulting for local governments/boards and non-profits.
