Phd Candidate In Human GeographyNtnu Aug 2015 - PresentPreliminary thesis title: Queer citizenship; participatory action research with LGBTQ youth in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Thesis on queer youth's strategies in dealing with discrimination. Fieldwork included (in addition to in-depth interviews) two workshop series where I, together with the research participants, examined norms related to gender and sexuality, and how they affect those of us who breach them. The participants also shared personal experiences and discussed possible solutions to societal discrimination of gender and sexual dissidents, as well as to the discrimination many are faced with within their own families.Research interests: Queer theory, Feminist postcolonial theory, Gender studies, Geographies of Sexualities, Critical whiteness studies, Intersectionality, Emotional Geographies, Feminist participatory action research.
