About Silke Becker
With a background in pharmacy and pharmacology, I have extensive experience in ophthalmology, cardiovascular biology and electrophysiology. My research interests are in retinal neovascular diseases and their treatments, with particular focus on Muller glial cell biology under hypoxic conditions. My current position requires me to generate, analyse and interpret data, which I present to large and smaller audiences. I have frequently published original articles, review papers and book chapters and have communicated scientific findings to a lay audience during public engagement activities.I am currently looking for new and suitable challenges, which make best use of my existing skills and qualifications and will enable me to progress my professional development in a different environment.
