Immediately following my high school graduation, I began attending Texas State Technical College to work on my general studies. While enrolled in school, I began working at EyeMasters as an eyewear sales representative and acquired 7 years experience with the company. After my graduation from the University of Texas at Brownsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education, I was hired in 2011 by Houston Independent School District as a Spanish teacher. I served 6 1/2 years with Houston before transitioning to Harlingen CISD for a short term as a paraprofessional at the Secondary Alternative Campus before accepting an offer with Progreso I.S.D. as a full time teacher. I am currently still under contract and employed with Progreso I.S.D. I serve as an LPAC member and I administer LAS Links, IOWA/ITBS, TELPAS, and STAAR exams. I also coordinate school-wide events and celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month.
