I have provided Top/Down E2E Architecture and Oracle Retail Domain knowledge support to the Sales Director and CEO on different strategic, tactical, internal & external initiatives - which included the preparation of business cases and presentations to key stakeholders.

- Oracle Retail v13.2.5 with SAP FinancialsKonzum d.d. is the largest & leading Retail chain in Croatia and adjacent markets of the region (in Serbia and Bosnia) with a turn over exceeding £3bn, operating with more than 700 stores. Konzum intensively develops its wholesale business as well, having more than 28 wholesale stores and 18 logistics centers. I was responsible to:- Lead and manage the retail business/functional side of the implementation for the Phase II, coordinating & leasing work between Konzum and Weigandt subject matter experts;- Guarantee the architecture quality & delivery for the retail side of the programme (modules implemented were MOM (with RMS, ReSA, RPM, ReIM, RTM), RDF, bespoke wholesale store EPOS and a head office solution).

- Oracle Retail v13.2.4 with eBusiness Financials This challenge involved all merchandise types (seasonal, regular), from grocery to non-grocery (fashion, books, home-ware, etc), used at Stockmann's Department Stores Division (DSD) & Beauty Stores in Finland, Russia and Baltics (Estonia/Latvia). The programme was divided into several deployments, per country, where Baltics & Russia would play a key part in the implementation and implementation stabilization. Finland was the last and most complex deployment, where EBS Order Management and Oracle Retail working together (supporting the commerce anywhere) played a fundamental part for the Finnish deployment.- I was working closely with the Programme Manager supporting him with the planning and re-planning of the project, risk mitigation, monitoring team progress, etc.;- I was also leading the entire business team and also assuming the role of business/functional side lead architect later in the programme; The implementation included the Oracle Retail modules RMS/RTM, Allocations, ReSA, ReIM, RPM and Retail Analytics.

- Oracle Retail v13.1 The IRIS programme involved two brands, namely Etos (pharmacy & cosmetics) and Gall & Gall (Licors & Wine). I was involved in the Commerce & Supply Chain areas, working directly with RMS & Allocations application modules: providing due diligence sessions, writing functional specification documents and ad-hoc support to different teams throughout the implementation.I was doing an intense gap analysis between RDW and every analytical business requirements. This involved numerous discussions around the different Oracle data warehousing applications known to date: BI APPS, RDM, RA and RDW.

Oracle Retail v13.1 - RDWIRIS Programme I was responsible to collaborate with the CRP sessions given to Ahold Etos & Gall OpCo's, gathering all the business requirements, doing the initial gap analysis and document everything.

- Oracle Retail v13.1 - RMS/RTM Remote consulting, giving support to the Purchasing & Importation domains.

- Oracle Retail v12 + Be Spoke EDW I have participated in Superfusion Programme 2nd Phase, leading the Business Intelligence team. My responsibilities involved gathering all the requirements to contribute to the roadmap & design of the new enterprise data warehouse.

- Oracle Retail v13.0a) Wings Programme: Generalist Senior Oracle Retail Consultant.- Contributed to the initial plan definition; - Involved with the integration teams I did the analysis, documentation, and re-engineering of the planning interfaces into the Makoro Planning application (mainly around the planning specific alternate hierarchies). - Gave support to some old Retek DW v2.5 extensions, already largely extended and labeled as the Corporate DW (CDW);

Senior Functional/Technical consultant- Participation in SONAE's Loyalty & Customer Intelligence programme- Designed a bespoke customer & loyalty DWH/BI data mart- Post design & implementation of customer classification/segmentation algorithm from scratch, based on specific business rules, to automatically cluster customers based on POS transactions- Responsible for the delivery of the solution to key stakeholders

- Oracle Retail v13 (Pre Evolve Programme)I was responsible for all the BI functional/technical part of Morrison’s RDW implementation (an initial strategic component of the Evolve project). This involved proof of concept with the Oracle BIEE with technical hands on the suite of products, including: - Complete metadata design from scratch for RDW v13 using the OBIEE Admin Tool; - Dynamic Ad-hoc Reports (with Answers and Dashboards);- Static reports (with BI Publisher).

- Oracle Retail v12 Co-responsible for the fixing/checking of the Oracle Retail customizations done to Tesco USA (in India), where several Oracle Retail modules were involved: RMS, ReSA, RPM + RSM. Key responsibilities involved:- Leading, supervising, coordinating and coaching a three Indian elements testing/support team from Wipro together with the support from another Portuguese colleague. - Coaching & Expert knowledge transfer to Tesco’s Indian software factory (HSC).

I have participated in multiple Retek and Business Intelligence Programmes performing generalist functional to technical roles ranging the full scope of any programme lifecycle, from functional analysis & technical designs to batch & DB performance optimization and recovery of critical failures in production systems. Clients: - Esprit, in New York, USA and Esprit, Ratingen, Germany (Retek & RDW SME version 9.3) - Nisa Today’s, in Scunthorpe, England (Bespoke DW - Go-Live Chill) - Galp Energia, in Portugal (Retek & RDW SME) - Fortress, from Portugal to Hong Kong (RDW/RETL SME) - MCH, Modelo e Continente Hipermercados in Portugal (DW SME)

Became a key element of the development team, working for a new Pricing module called Target Pricing, doing analysis and developments involving several technologies such as Java, Hibernate, Eclipse, JBOSS and others.

Contributed to the functional/technical design of multiple extensions done to SONAE's Retek and the be spoke Data Warehouse:- Design of conceptual, logical and physical models with ERWIN;- Hands on development of a large number of PRO*C, PL/SQL packages and shell scripts; - Supported the full cycle of tests;- Supported the cut-over & go-live;- Post go-live stabilization support / hypercare

Part of his final university project, Álvaro Silva started his career in the Pricing arena, working with an internal product called SPVP (Price Suggestion Application) to a Portuguese retailer (SONAE Modelo Continente Hipermercados - MCH). His responsibilities involved:- extending the HOLOS MOLAP platform with multiple client specific customizations;- deriving from HOLOS the AS IS business rules to aid in the development of a small prototype; - studying a large set of Java based rule engines available in market, choosing JRules;- developing a small pricing prototype making use of the business concepts learned with SPVP and HOLOS business rules, using the Java programming language together with JRules Engine API.Álvaro concluded his course with a final report: "Business Process Automation using Java based rule engines".
