As a member of the front-end team for desktop maps, I implemented a birthday easter egg feature where users see a different pegman on their birthday. This involved tying in the maps backed with google plus, and many performance tweaks and testing to ensure it did not slow down the initial load time of the map itself. Worked on the Search Logs Quality team in primarily JavaScript and Golang to design and implement improvements to an internal tool for monitoring search logging bugs used by various teams.I proposed and implemented a new cache interface to reduce the number of RPC calls made to the API providing bug data, speeding up the tool significantly for those.
