Has an engineering background, is fluent in English and Portuguese, and has advanced Spanish skills. Lived in the US for a year and two months as a participant of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, being a fully-funded scholarship recipient. Studied Civil Engineering at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and took part in a Research Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
