The Chair of the Communication Committee of the International Association for Lichenology (IAL) leads the development and execution of the association's communication strategies. This role involves managing and coordinating content across IAL’s website, newsletters, and social media platforms, ensuring that information is timely, accurate, and engaging for both members and the public. The Chair collaborates closely with committee members and other IAL leaders to promote events, publications, and initiatives, while also exploring new tools to enhance the association’s outreach.Starting with the new Council in 2021, I had to renew completely the communication strategy of the IAL, not only with a new website and brand new social media accounts, but also planning and developing a series of outreach activities that led to an increase in the number of IAL members.

My role is to make the lives of the RUTTER team as easy as possible. Whether they need a book or a piece of equipment, I procure it for them. When they are participating in a conference, I handle the administrative aspects. If they are organizing a meeting, I assist with the logistics. Writing reports and providing support in preparing project proposals are also part of my responsibilities. I help in any kind of problem can arise.But is my role solely centered around paperwork? Certainly not. I also serve as the coordinator of the internship program and am responsible for communication, including managing the website and social media. Additionally, as a researcher myself, I take pleasure in contributing in small ways to the ongoing investigation within the project.And what's the most enjoyable aspect of my job? It's the organization and participation in outreach activities, where we finally get the chance to engage with people and share our exciting research.
