Being an International Account Specialist is wonderfully challenging while almost always complicated - and I wouldn't want it any other way. Working with customers and vendors from around the world requires the ability to navigate complicated shipping and customs requirements, while communicating effectively in multiple languages and being knowledgeable of cultural and societal differences. This includes having a deep understanding of international business practices, etiquette and work habits.In fact, managing my accounts and suppliers located in the Caribbean, Central America and Puerto Rico has not only been enriching, it has fostered my natural interest and desire to travel and explore the world. Learning about holidays, customs and everyday life from my customers continues to fascinate and inspire me.My enthusiasm for work spills over to my home life, as I am just as passionate about sports and exploring the outdoors. Swimming and camping are just a couple of things that I enjoy, along with advocating for animals. On one occasion, I actually stopped and rescued an injured duckling off the side of the road and took it to a shelter for rehabilitation. I also regularly foster animals who need temporary care - I just can’t help it.
