I've advocated for and initiated the working group as a cross-functional one to oversee and research privacy matters in all fields of blockchain applications.During my nearly 2-year tenure as co-chair, we've surveyed blockchain companies on how privacy regulations impacts them, reached out to and supported different regulators, published a report on data protection regulations in the blockchain ecosystem, followed by a report on data protection regulations applicable to blockchain technologies across international jurisdictions.The key aims of the working group are:- To keep track of how privacy regulations relate to blockchain.- To issue opinions of how regulations should be adopted to be inclusive of distributed ledger technologies.- To seek dialog with regulators and where requested provide advice.- To pursue more blockchain/distributed ledger friendly privacy regulations and guidance, starting with the gold-standard in data protection regulations: the GDPR. -
