As Managing Partner at TechGDPR, my role is hands-on and revolves around making data protection practical and accessible for every business we work with. Here's what I focus on day-to-day:- Building Relationships: I'm on the ground, working directly with tech companies, startups, and enterprises, helping them navigate the often complex world of GDPR, AI ethics, and data protection.- Strategic Guidance: It's not just about compliance; it's about understanding how data protection can be a strategic advantage. I advise on integrating privacy into business models in a way that enhances trust and customer loyalty.- Practical Solutions: I lead our team to deliver solutions that are not only innovative but also practical and tailored to the unique needs of our clients. It's about making the law work for you, not the other way around.- Education & Advocacy: Beyond our consultancy work, I'm passionate about demystifying data protection. Whether it's through workshops, talks, or articles, I aim to make privacy laws more understandable and less daunting for everyone in the tech space.

BerChain has defined its mission to connect and promote the Berlin blockchain community inside and outside the blockchain ecosystem to position Berlin as the global blockchain capital. After formally founding BerChain as an association in January 2019, I was elected as the first President of the Board and reelected in 2021 for a second term.

BerChain connects the Berlin Blockchain scene. I founded BerChain in October 2017 as a slack channel and event calendar. Meanwhile, in 2021, it has grown to a network with over 800 selected blockchain professionals in Berlin, and was set up as a non-profit, member-led association since 2019. We are hosting regular events and are actively supporting the establishment of Berlin as Blockchain Capital with different initiatives that are yet to be announced.

The privacy working group of INATBA, the largest association of blockchain companies in the world, is led by its co-chairs. I've advocated for and initiated the working group as a cross-functional one to oversee and research privacy matters in all fields of blockchain applications.During my nearly 2-year tenure as co-chair, we've surveyed blockchain companies on how privacy regulations impacts them, reached out to and supported different regulators, published a report on data protection regulations in the blockchain ecosystem, followed by a report on data protection regulations applicable to blockchain technologies across international jurisdictions.The key aims of the working group are:- To keep track of how privacy regulations relate to blockchain.- To issue opinions of how regulations should be adopted to be inclusive of distributed ledger technologies.- To seek dialog with regulators and where requested provide advice.- To pursue more blockchain/distributed ledger friendly privacy regulations and guidance, starting with the gold-standard in data protection regulations: the GDPR.

This role included the project management of building the offices, classrooms and production/recording/mixing/mastering studios and technical outfit. Building up a local team of administrative staff and lecturers, student recruitment, local marketing and partnerships, event management of the opening party with over 300 international attendees and much more.

Overseeing operations within SAE IT in Europe, including responsibility for key global enterprise systems, technical and operational security, leading software development, business relationship management and tactical direction of IT matters, including leadership of the data protection compliance efforts under different laws of European countries the organisation operates in, and in particular the requirements of the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG). In this role I led the massive improvement in the IT services available to SAE, including the establishment of a professional service desk, introduction of policies, procedures and a corporate service level agreement. In-house software development is now more planned and better documented.Providing leadership to an international team of 9 with offices in Berlin, Amsterdam, Cologne and Montreal.
