I worked in the The Point Theatre for 18 years. I started as Flymaster. I was in charge of the theatre flying system and looked after the setting up of all the flying scenery for shows.I supervised the fly crew during a shows. I worked on stage as a stagehand, as a stage electrician and in lighting.I also worked on the stage and seating builds. Finally I worked as assistant electrician, working with touring crews setting up their electrical supplies. I worked the shows as electrician on duty, operating the house lights and I was on call during the show. Worked with the head electrician on the electrical maintenance of the building.
I started as a stagehand. I was then offered the daytime position of backstage security which I worked on for 9 months until the the stage door moved to the rear of the building. In the evening I worked as a stagehand. After 18 months I was promoted to Flymaster. I looked after the flying system and all the flying scenery for the shows.
Opened and closed the shop, did cash up, ordered stock. I injured my knee and had to leave my position
