Partner and main contact for Silver Salt Restoration has nearly 30 years operational post production experience and has been managing restoration projects for the past 14 years. Mark’s first major restoration title was Underground (1928) for the BFI. It was one of the first major UK digital restorations taking advantage of advancements in Digital Intermediate technology. The Guardian described the restoration as “a triumph”. A deep understanding regarding the aesthetics of digital restoration was formed with the BFI and has served as the foundation for future restorations. Mark headed the most successful and world renowned Deluxe Restoration team. Some key titles that Mark has been responsible for include Midsomer Murders; The Third Man; The Deer Hunter; The Thing; The Beatles: 1; Shea Stadium; the Hitchcock 9 project; The Man Who Fell to Earth; and the Treasures project for Sound & Vision. Also large digitisation projects Unlocking Film Heritage; Imperial War Museum; and the Clarks archive.
