Developed a fit-for-purpose, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) method to review chiral analytes involved in high-throughput enzyme screenings within the Early Chemical Development department.

Within the UoN School of Pharmacy, I completed training in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, fluorescent microscopy and confocal microscopy to independently complete MRes research project. The project investigated the transfection efficiency of novel mRNA-loaded polymeric nanoparticles, in vitro, with focus on the intracellular mechanisms at play.Following this, I produced a detailed research report and presented my work to fellow peers, academics and industry.

Awarded a 6-week paid internship within Professor Martin Cann’s laboratory in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University.Investigated the growth enhancement observed in E. coli upon addition of dead cell lysates. Applied microbiology and biochemistry knowledge to understand data and explain findings to academics. Skills developed: Bacterial cell culture. Independent use of BMG LABTECH Microplate reader. MARS and Prism data analysis.
