Silvia Meschini holds a Master Science in Building Engineer and a PhD in Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (BIMGroup Lab). From February 2024 she works as research fellow (RtD-A) at the Department of computer science of the University of Turin, funded by the EU NRPP Project: NODES - Spoke 4, Digital innovation toward sustainable mountain. She deals with the digital transition in the built environment with a focus on process digitalisation and information modelling for the lifecycle management of buildings and assets. She tackles the definition of Guidelines and Standards for Information Modelling, Information Management Systems for Assets based on the integration of BIM, GIS and Business Intelligence, as well as on the development of Digital Twins, with a focus on sustainability and digital management of Contract.Her PhD was funded by a national interest research project (PRIN) aimed at developing an open-source, distributed, digital collaborative framework for Small and Medium Enterprises. She specifically focused on the digital transition of process management by leveraging new digital approaches, web of data and process modeling to enhance tender evaluation and waste management in public procurement.
