Solely responsible for evaluating and further enhancing the Travel & Lifestyle Services Compliance Program for the 9 markets within Japan & Asia Pacific (JAPA) countries.Partner with Privacy, AML, Legal, Credit and Fraud Risk groups to ensure compliant execution of initiatives and assessment of risk.Provide advice on global compliance, legal, regulatory and operational matters affecting the Travel & Lifestyle business.Responsible for the efficient implementation of appropriate Compliance policies and objectives of the Travel & Lifestyle business.Lead development of global & regional compliance procedures to adapt to company policies, local legal inventory and market specific regulatory requirements.Conduct periodic compliance review of third party vendors.Develop close relationships with global business partners.Lead Compliance Officer on numerous projects involving multiple market and global regulations to mitigate compliance risks.Perform Compliance Risk Assessments of the Travel & Lifestyle products/services, legal entities and staff groups.Provide Compliance oversight for all Monitoring & Oversight activities.

Lead Compliance data privacy initiatives in JAPA in accordance with the Lead JAPA Privacy GCO. * Lead for the development of JAPA compliance procedures to adapt to company policies, local legal inventory and local regulatory requirements. * Function as central point for implementation of policies, regulatory requirements identified by the MCOs and/or GCO * Support and assistance to the businesses to address external client requests. * Central point of contact for the compliance review of third party vendors. * Central point of contact for compliance support for privacy related initiatives in the region.

Responsible for evaluating and further enhancing the American Express Global Commercial Payments (GCP) Compliance Program In JAPA •Support the JAPA portion of GCP’s Compliance & Ethics department •Support GCP in C & E global initiatives that affect the GCP business •Partner with and align with responsible Market Compliance Officers in JAPA •Work with The Privacy Office, GCO, Credit and Fraud Risk groups to ensure compliant execution of initiatives and assessment of risk •Help to ensure best-in-class Compliance program elements are in place for topics such as anti-money laundering, Marketing and Advertising, New Product Development due diligence, Anti-Corruption, Data Privacy and Information Security, Licensing & Regulatory requirements and Governance. •Consult with JAPA GCC Leadership on Compliance matters and to ensure proper execution of applicable monitoring programs, design & provide training, implement new regulatory requirements as well as gain expertise in applicable laws and regulations that apply to the Commercial Card Business in JAPA •Assist in enhancing the GCC Compliance infrastructure through the creation / updating of polices, training decks and monitoring programs
