The resort was developed based on my personal experience of over 3 decades of tourism industry as an entrepreneur and as an architect. The One&Only Kanuhura resort is highly regarded among world’s leading resorts and has won awards such as "Best Designed Hotels in Asia, Australia and New Zealand 2001" and "Hideaway of the Year 2001". The company was sold on March 31st, 2008.Boards and Committees served on include the Maldives Tourism Promotion Board, the Maldives Ports Authority Board, the Executive Board of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry, the Executive Board for Institute of Hotel and Catering Services. In the 1990s I also served as a member of the President’s Consultative Committee. Vice-Chairman for the National Committee for South Asian Human Resource Development Program. Honorary Consul of Iceland in the Maldives since March 2008.Received the Ministry of Tourism award for 25 years of outstanding service for the contribution of sustainable development in Maldives tourism
