Investment banker Simeon Schwartz functions as Managing Partner of the New York office of BTG Pactual. In addition, he functions as Chief Investment Officer of BTG Pactual Asset Management and serves as a member of the firm’s Global Management Committee. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, BTG Pactual formed when BTG took over UBS Pactual in 2009. The independent investment bank, the largest in Latin America, also operates offices in Recife, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; New York; London; and Hong Kong. Before joining BTG Pactual, Simeon Schwartz operated as Managing Director at Bankers Trust in New York City, where he served as Head of Derivatives and Proprietary Trading for the United States. At UBS AG in Stamford, Connecticut, he directed derivatives, government securities, and global commodities, and acted as a member of the Investment Bank’s Board of Directors. Simeon Schwartz began his academic career at Queens College in Flushing, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in computer science. Attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, he received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Dedicated to supporting his community, Simeon Schwartz serves as a Board Member of the Orthodox Jewish synagogue Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst on Long Island, New York. The synagogue offers activities and educational opportunities for adults and children. Simeon Schwartz also supports Barnard College and Kulanu Center for Special Services, which assists families with children facing developmental and/or physical disabilities. In his leisure time, Simeon Schwartz enjoys spending time with his children, traveling, and watching team sports. He also takes pleasure in reading, particularly the works of Winston Churchill.
