Growing up, being an editor or even a writer for that matter was never my calling. But borrowing story books from the school library and losing myself in the wonderlands of fiction was something I effortlessly enjoyed. Reading such fascinating stories would make me want to write something of my own too, and that was when I realised that I needed to get my fundamentals right if I wanted to write something compelling and relatable.After 15 years of schooling, 5 years of specialisation in journalism and communication, and almost 8 years of content writing and editing, and strategising, I can dream of that one day maybe 20 years down the line when I would be editing the opening lines of the next best-selling novel series by an up-and-coming author. Until then, I keep myself busy by weaving and polishing stories that involve brands and businesses looking to increase their web traffic, engagement, and visibility. Being in quality control positions over the years has helped me recognise that even though I cannot edit stories on damsels in distress and dragon slayers, I definitely can slay it when it comes to ideating, creating, or perfecting content across different industries - from E-Commerce and B2B to Entertainment and BFS.These 8 years of being a professional have taught me to handle some major content responsibilities, manage teams and difficult team members, coordinate with different departments to meet deadlines, and work in tandem with the design and SEO teams to address client needs efficiently.
