As Chief Executive and ‘head’ of three separate multi billion dollar single family offices, I have represented the family’s interests globally where amongst others I sat as Chairman of a $2.5bn Private Equity Fund and had full responsibility from a financial, legal and regulatory perspective for over $5bn of other assets that included a high profile publishing house; gold mine joint venture; international football club joint venture; oil reserve; brewery; hotel group; railway and a vast array of personal real assets. I was also ‘client lead’ in significant commercial litigation (lasting over 5 years) and have substantial experience working with deal teams comprising principals, lawyers, accountants and specialist consultants.As the ‘trusted family adviser’, I oversaw the creation and implementation of family operating/succession plans and daily, discreetly managed and resolved many of those wide ranging personal requirements that are distinctive to the ultra-high net worth (e.g. day to day close protection security/threat assessment resolution through to how to own and care for a donkey). Prior to heading up the two separate single family offices, I worked for 12 years in the offshore trust and corporate services industry where I facilitated tax efficient and/or asset protection structures from a multitude of different jurisdictions. During this period I took up posts in Gibraltar, Switzerland, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man and the British Virgin Islands.
