As an active member of the Duke Undergraduate Energy and Climate Club (DECC), I collaborated with Strata Clean Energy, a leading provider of utility-scale solar and energy storage solutions, on a project addressing the critical challenge of aging renewable infrastructure. Focused on decision methodologies, we aimed to guide renewable owners and stakeholders in determining optimal strategies for addressing aging technology, including options like repowering and decommissioning. The project involved a thorough Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for renewable energy developments, complemented by a Delphi Study to refine conclusions. Our final deliverable included a case study analysis of solar farms in North Carolina, enabling us to directly apply our research findings in a real-world context. This project offered an exciting opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy transition and gain valuable insights into the strategic management of aging infrastructure.

During my summer internship, I collaborated with the bridge design, management, and geotechnical groups, contributing to the resolution of complex structural problems through the application of engineering principles. I conducted construction inspections for bridges and structures, generating detailed memoranda and reports. My responsibilities encompassed developing calculations, design plans, and analyzing structural integrity post-vehicle impact. Additionally, I played a role in both the quality control and quality assurance processes, and I assisted in the creation of macros for automating data analysis in support of bridge management efforts.
