Design- Designed mechanisms and structures for a spiral mill that manufactures wind turbine towers- Set up drawing templates and design workflows and handled general CAD PDM administration- Supported team projects by performing complex FEA analyses in Ansys- Designed components and full mechanisms across all parts of the spiral manufacturing process, including flat state material handling, forming, welding, and rolled tower handlingCommissioning, Testing, & Continuous Improvement- Supervised build and commissioning of my designs and assemblies designed by other engineers- Performed on site commissioning, testing, and integrating of the mill into the factory location- Led efforts to improve product quality, machine reliability, and reduce cycle time of the spiral mill. Spearheaded both process improvements and machine design changes to affect these changes- Managed day to day testing and commissioning of the spiral mill, which included keeping production staff engaged and prioritized, resolving technical challenges, and creating specs for handoff to the remote engineering team- Collaborated with many teams spanning operations, production, quality, and engineering across multiple locations to keep commissioning and testing moving forward efficiently- Coordinated the road map and schedule for machine upgrades and production runs
