Implementation and maintenance of quality, environmental and health and safety management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, EN 1090, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001). This work includes internal auditing, external auditing, supply chain auditing, systems development, systems maintenance and training.I also work as a stress management consultant.

My role involved a range of activities relating to quality, the environment and energy management, such as process management, internal and second party audits, lean six sigma projects, kaizen activities, customer feedback handling, product analysis, root cause analysis and maintaining certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.

The role involved a range of responsibilities, including setting policy & strategy, business development, managing the consultancy and auditing programmes, delivering training and directly carrying out a range of services to the certification industry, including carrying out third party, supply chain and internal audits against ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001, PAS 43, PAS 2030, PAS 99, the Microgeneration Installation/Certification Standards, the National Highway Sector Schemes and CE Marking.

I helped the certification body maintain conformity to ISO 17021 and BS EN 45011, as well as facilitating the upgrade from ISO 17021:2006 to ISO 17021:2011. Activities included internal auditing, systems development and liasing with accreditation bodies (both nationally and internationally).

I worked with clients to help them develop and maintain management systems and certification to applicable standards.

The role involved a wide remit, including helping the business grow and introducing formal management practices derived from, for example, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

I helped the organisation grow and develop over a number of years and introduced formal quality management tools such as 8D and ISO 9001.

My job involved planned preventive maintenance of medical equipment and devices.

Following the closure of UMM, I completed my apprenticeship at Golightly Roofing until it also closed. I had a wide range of duties at this small organisation, allowing me to gain a variety of technical and commercial experience.

I was employed as a technical apprentice, spending time in every company department, from the stores, the machine shop, quality control and the fabrication shop. The primary focus of my apprenticeship was on getting me trained as a design-draughtsman.
