As a Senior Lecturer within the Business and Management Department of Oxford Brookes Business School I am involved in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, particularly in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship and Strategy.I have an active research agenda exploring the role of Social Enterprise and Business Ethics.

As a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow within the Birmingham Business School I worked with academic colleagues to develop and deliver a pro active and relevant research agenda. My research interests focused upon the development and delivery of social policy, social enterprise and sustainable business models. I developed research projects around co-produced and co-delivered services. I was particularly interested in the development of new operational mechanisms within public sector agencies which are designed to re-conceive the relationship between the state and citizen.

I provided overall leadership and direction for the Centre for Labour Market Development at the University of Chester, to ensure its continued development and sustainability. I was responsible for the strategic representation of the Centre as a key agency for research and knowledge transfer between the University and external partners with a focus upon the economic impact of social and demographic change. I had responsibility for the realisation of the Centre’s objectives through continued multi agency and cross sector partnerships. I was tasked with providing input into the future direction for the Centre, including appropriate business planning. I implement quality systems and deliver overall management of delivery and development of existing projects and partnerships which involve the Centre.I was also a Noth West Universities Enterprise Champion with responsibility for delivering a series of extra curricula activities aimed at promoting entrepreneurial and innovative activities amongst students and graduates as well as embedding enterprise within the Universities curricula.Particular research interests focus upon social and sustainable business models. I led the business element of the University's MSc in Sustainable Business and Community.

As a trustee I, along with other Board members, had responsibility for the strategicdevelopment of VCAW, ensuring that it complies with its constitution, charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations

I delivered two major European funded projects on behalf of the Social Enterprise Network and acted as liaison between the organisation and individual social enterprises and the wider Merseyside and North West public sector. I also led the Impetus Programme.
