An experienced Elite Sport Performance Leader & Executive Coach who has a track record of leading elite sports programmes in UK & Asia to World, Continental, Commonwealth and Olympic medal success as well as providing leadership and high-performance organisational team coaching to SLTs & business leaders.As an elite athlete Simon was Captain of England Rugby 7s for 6 years winning World 7s Player of the Year in 2004 and leading the team to 4 Kong Kong 7s titles. He also played for London Irish, Gloucester and Wasps Premiership teams winning the Powergen Cup, Premiership, European Challenge Cup and European Champions Cup. Upon retiring as an elite athlete he spent 2 years as a Performance Advisor for UK Sport supporting a number of sports in preparation for London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics. He led the GB Rugby 7s team to a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics and England 7s to a silver medal at 2018 World Cup. As England Rugby Assistant coach to Eddie Jones and coaching co-ordinator he won the 2020 6Nations & 8Nations. He has also led programmes in Hong Kong and Japan achieving qualification for the 2024 Olympics.He holds a post-graduate qualification from Cambridge University, an MBA (Southern Cross University) and graduate from the UK Sport Elite Programme (2016-2019) learning alongside world class elite leaders including Gareth Southgate (Football), Steve Borthwick (Rugby), Paula Dunn (Athletics) and Mel Marshall (Swimming). In addition he has trained as an Executive Coach at Ashridge Hult Business School and currently provides strategic advice to Japan rugby.Culturally agile Simon is a collaborative leader & committed team coach facilitator who is recognised as an expert in shaping high challenge, high care team environments that understands and supports the individual to become their best.
