LEMA was founded by The Traxis Group and Gemserv at the start of 2024. It is an industry led initiative to create a new market for local alternatives to infrastructure based grid strengthening. In particular we aim to streamline and accelerate the commercial implementation of Smart Local Energy Systems by developing, codifying and making available solutions to common market barriers. By doing so we expect to develop growing commercial opportunities for these types of solutions.

A new Joint Venture we have been working on for the last year. We are announcing it progressively over the next few months as it takes shape. Our first initiative is Traxis Energy, a Commercial Incubator Programme focused on scaling up Distributed Energy - commercial in that it brings together businesses and proven ideas and focuses on the mass market.We aim to be a catalyst that brings together 3 groups: businesses that will take an active role in delivering whole products to scale markets, independent advisors who will introduce new ideas, challenge our thinking and broaden out our propositions and experienced experts who have been there and done it and will help and assist with integration.Watch this space! Along with Paddy, I founded geo (Green Energy Options) in 2006. Our plan was - is - to helpdomestic energy users understand and take control of their energy consumption. By improving the efficiency of their homes people can be more comfortable and save money! Over 12 years I helped pilot geo to become a leading player in this industry. In 2017 we were awarded a Queens Enterprise Award for Innovation, we were listed in the UK's fastest growing Tech100 in 2016 and 17 (and hopefully 2018 too...) and the European Tech1000. geo now employs nearly 100 people, has a turnover of £28m in FY 17-18 together with a healthy profit which is being reinvested in the business. I call that a success! geo is now embarking on a significant expansion programme and I have taken this opportunity to leave, start another business and follow my passion for enabling an enterprise education structure for school leavers.
