Over the past 30 years, Simon has held a variety of directorial, leadership, finance and executive management roles in some of Australia’s leading public and private companies/partnerships across a broad ranging geography. Since 2009 his responsibilities have included international commercial and operational leadership in the USA, South Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. Simon’s diverse experience spans Investor relations, M&A, strategic planning, finance leadership, business restructuring, project management, people development and systems design and implementation. In the last 8 years, Simon’s experience has included 4 years leading the Dyno Nobel International business based in the USA, 3 years leading the Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific (DNAP) business in Brisbane, and for the two years he has led Incitec Pivot’s (IPL) Asia Pacific Downstream business based in Brisbane and Melbourne.His experiences in strategic growth and M&A covers the entire spectrum – strategy development, identification, negotiation, relationship and project management, post-merger integration, synergy delivery and funding. Simon’s most recent notable strategic achievement was leading the feasibility phase for the construction of IPL’s US$850m 800,000tpa Louisiana ammonia plant including the successful negotiation with the brownfield operator.Simon has led strategic reviews, business restructuring, process development and systems development/implementation projects. In these roles he has delivered hard dollar synergies as well as productivity and continuous improvements, simplified reporting systems and more effective sales functions.
