I have a broadcast engineering background of nearly thirty years. This has given me experience of all elements of broadcasting including studios, outside broadcast trucks and more recently flyaway bespoke broadcast facility solutions.Over that time I have been the EIC for projects ranging from FA cup finals for both Sky and ITV to Jean Michel Jarre millennium celebration in front of the Pyramids in Cairo. More recently I have project managed the world cup coverage for ESPN in 2010 and ITV in 2014. Since 2008 I have been the project manager for ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Other projects I have managed include the French Open for Input Media, Wimbledon for IMG and Formula 1 for Sky Sports. Today I am CTO for Presteigne Broadcast Hire helping to provide the most up to date products and innovation for the broadcast hire market.I have extensive knowledge of the broadcast industry with many connections throughout this industry and a reputation as a competent and well-organized project manager and engineer. I understand the client’s needs and value the relationship I have with all my clients. My career has given me experience in system design, engineering management and logistics. My role as technical project manager for Gearhouse Broadcast enables me to be involved in a project from the initial concept, right through to completion. In my role, I meet with clients and from their concept and requirements, develop a quote and a bespoke system design. I can if required produce ACAD drawings of the system with rack layouts and cable schedules. If a location meeting is required then I am only too happy to meet with the client there to help provide the best solution possible. I can then produce a kit list, which is then shipped to the location. I will then be on site to project manage throughout the rig and recording or live transmission. Finally, overseeing the de-rig and making sure all the shipping home goes to plan.
